Flying Nude by Plane

Sunday, October 23, 2005

Flying naked can actually be done through special destination packages. Check out Naked Air for example.

Unfortunately, most of us will have to take a more common airline. Luckily, there's a way to make your average clothed flight a little better. All you need to do is choose a good seat.

A website called SeatGuru.com is a free service that tells what seats are the best on different airlines and planes. It's a handy guide if you want a window seat that has a window or a seat that actually goes back.

SeatGuru currently lists the following airlines: American Airlines, Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Continental Airlines, US Airways, Northwest, British Airways, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, KLM, Air France, Air Canada, Independence Air, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, America West, AirTran and a few smaller airlines.

Cap d'Agde is a naturist destination for singles, couples, families, gays, lesbians and all nationalities

Cap d'Agde is the nudist adventure of a lifetime. Cap d'Agde is a naturist destination for singles, couples, families, gays, lesbians and all nationalities. Heck, you can even bring your dog. Some people do. There isn't the dog doo madness of Paris, but do watch where you step.

There are over 40,000 visitors annually of all types and nationalities, but there is plenty of space to walk around. With a 2 kilometer beach, you can take a nude walk till your tired, then pull up a seat and do some people watching.

The main visiting season runs June, July & August when there's lots of visitors, but the weather is the best. Sometimes there is some wind off the Mediterranean, but hey, if you are naked and on vacation on the Mediterranean, it is hard to complain.

On trip report on another website by the president of an Indian naturist federation put it well: "Every naturist who’s been to Cap (for short) longs to go back there; many do, year after year, for a week or two every year, maybe more if they’re retired. And every naturist who hasn’t been there wants to go there some time."

He goes on to say that Cap d'Agde "is a city, with pools, cafes, restaurants, bookshops, clothes shops, bars, snack-bars, laundries, post-office, estate agents’ offices, marina, bank, supermarket, bread and pastry shops, wine shops, fruit and veg shops, petrol pump, everything a city needs. The beautiful clean beach and the enchantingly blue Mediterranean sea are a bonus. And you have the legal right to be nude anywhere any time of the day. (The nightclubs want you dressed though). This is what the world would be like if it were CO (clothes optional)."

Offsite things to do when visiting Cap d'Agde

Cap d'Agde is certainly fun, but if you've travelled all the way to France, be sure to see some of the clothed sites in the area.

About an hour away is the magnificant castle of Carcassonne. Here's a link to learn more:
Carcassonne Castle

It seems like a cool site to see.

Cap d'Agde Hotels

Thursday, October 13, 2005

Cap d'Agde is the world's biggest nudist tourist destination. It's not quite Disney, but it is naked. There's a beach, shopping, restaurants and clubs.

If you're going to go there, you can either stay in the Naturist Quarter or just stay in the clothed part of town. Within a reasonable drive outside of the nudist zone, there are a bunch of textile hotels. However, staying on site is more fun. There's a few option and we'll let you know of more as we find them.

The Naturist Quarter only has one or two hotels. It also has a ton of apartments for rent. There are some travel agencies that can get you into the apartments just as easily as if you were renting a hotel. The apartments are all shapes and sizes. If you can get something with a kitchen, don't worry about food. Within walking distance you can go do some naked grocery shopping - without even leaving the Naturist Quarter.

Here's one place that will hook you up with accomodations. More will be added soon.

http://www.cap-nat.com/ - This place offers Cap d'agde travel services. Their website says: "Big enough to count and small enough to care - about you and your holiday accommodation needs in Naturist Cap d'Agde. We offer a wide range of accommodation throughout the resort."

http://www.pengtravel.co.uk/France/Cap/Cap.html - Here's another place. Based out of the UK, but serving US too. Has some good info and pics.

Nudist travel in the news

Nice little commentary on getting naked in the US in contrast to European standards. Read "In Germany, it's all nudes, all the time".

Speaking of naked Europe, learn about Cap d'Agde, the world capital of getting naked. It is located in the Naturist Quarter in the town of Agde in southern France. It's a short train ride from Paris or Barcelona if you're in the area.

Here's a few good Cap d'Agde websites:
